Pakistan’s Response to India’s Threat of Full-Scale Military Action Including Nuclear Weapons

3 Min Read
SHARE

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Pakistan has issued a stern warning in response to India’s threat of using full military force, including nuclear weapons. Pakistani officials have emphasized that Islamabad is prepared to use its entire spectrum of power—both conventional and nuclear—if provoked or attacked by India.

Background of the Tensions

The recent surge in hostility follows a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam area, which India attributes to Pakistan-backed militant groups. In retaliation, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, a long-standing agreement governing water sharing between the two countries, further escalating the conflict.

Pakistan views India’s suspension of the treaty and military posturing as acts of aggression, warning that any attempt to disrupt Pakistan’s water supply or launch military strikes will be met with a decisive response.

Pakistan’s Official Statements

Muhammad Khalid Jamali, Pakistan’s ambassador to Russia, stated in an interview that Islamabad has credible intelligence indicating an imminent Indian military incursion. He warned that Pakistan will respond with the full spectrum of its military capabilities, including nuclear weapons, if attacked.

Jamali described India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty as an act of war, asserting that any interference with Pakistan’s water resources would provoke a full-scale response.

Military Preparations and Missile Tests

In a show of strength, Pakistan recently conducted a test launch of the Abdali surface-to-surface missile, capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads. The test was described as a demonstration of operational readiness amid rising tensions.

International and Regional Implications

The nuclear rhetoric from Pakistan has heightened global concerns about the potential for a broader conflict between two nuclear-armed neighbors. Diplomatic efforts continue to urge restraint, but the situation remains volatile.

India has also taken measures such as banning imports from Pakistan and restricting maritime trade, further straining bilateral relations.

In summary, Pakistan has firmly responded to India’s threats by warning of the use of its full military arsenal, including nuclear weapons, if provoked. The situation underscores the fragile security environment in South Asia and the urgent need for diplomatic engagement.
